Skyward SMS to Qmlativ Migration

Starting July 21, 2027, the Chehalis School District will be migrating from Skyward SMS to Qmlativ. Qmlativ, the new Skyward, is a SQL-based platform that combines an easy to navigate user interface and focuses on growth and development of every user. Including embedded customization and workflow tools to meet your unique needs for managing important tasks and processes, allowing for well-informed decisions faster.
As a Chehalis School District staff member, here is what you need to know right now:
- You will have training and support before anything is expected of you
- Our data — student records, attendance, grades — will transfer safely
- We will communicate clearly and often as we get closer to our Go Live date

Qmlativ Migration Phases & Timeline
Data & Configuration: Timeline: Current-June 2027
Initial planning, setup and transfer of core historical data.
Whole Staff Awareness: Timeline: Current-June 2027
Outreach, publications and staff engagement including surveys/focus groups to ensure staff awareness and understanding of upcoming migration
Core Staff Training
Focused training sessions for administrators, teachers and key staff members on new modules.
Preparation for Migration
Staff feels informed and prepared. Students and families are aware. Grading and scheduling data must be in place before “dark days” during system migration.
Go Live Transition
Official move to Qmlativ. System will be unavailable starting July 21 for as long as 7-10 days. Legacy Skyward systems become read-only.
Post Launch Support
Focused support team available to resolve issues and optimize new workflows.
